Approves Supporting Committees at Meeting in Jeddah.. UAFA Board Praises FIFA President’s Efforts, Welcomes Steps to Strengthen Global Football Unity
His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, President of the Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA), chaired the 81st meeting of the Federation’s Board of Directors, held today, Thursday, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
At the outset of the meeting, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal welcomed the Board members and expressed his hopes for the success of their collective efforts to further advance and develop Arab football across its various competitions and activities.
Dr. Raja Allah Al Sulami, Secretary General of UAFA, then presented the General Secretariat’s report, covering technical and administrative matters. The Board reviewed the calendar of national team and club competitions for the 2026/27 sports season and approved the formation of the supporting committees for the Board’s current 2025–2029 term.
The Board also reviewed a number of development initiatives and measures, including the “Challenge and Innovation Initiative,” which focuses on introducing development competitions that incorporate modern technology into various aspects of football.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Board of Directors of UAFA welcomed the recent steps taken by FIFA to ensure continued collaboration with national, regional, and continental football associations and to strengthen cooperation and joint efforts on decisions aimed at advancing football worldwide.
The UAFA also reaffirmed its support and appreciation, in the coming period, for FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who over a decade strengthened unity across the global football community, further developed and grew the game, and expanded its global reach in a way that serves the interests of all stakeholders and meets the aspirations of players and fans around the world.
