Organised by UAFA and Hosted by Egypt in Port Said .. Four Opening-Day Clashes Set to Kick Off the Arab Beach Soccer Cup
Eight National Teams Set to Compete for the Capital Cup as the Fifth Arab Beach Soccer Cup Kicks Off
Eight national teams — Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Morocco, Mauritania, Lebanon, Iraq, and Libya — will compete for the “Capital Cup” in the fifth edition of the Arab Beach Soccer Cup 2026.
The tournament, organised by the Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA) and hosted by the Egyptian Football Association in Port Said, Egypt, will kick off tomorrow (Thursday) and run until 9 November.
The opening day will feature four exciting encounters, beginning with Mauritania taking on Iraq, followed by Oman, runners-up in the previous edition, facing Libya. Morocco will then meet Lebanon in the third match, before defending champions and hosts Egypt take on Saudi Arabia in the fourth and final fixture of the day.
All tournament matches will be broadcast live on ON SPORTS channels.
The eight participating teams have been drawn into two groups of four, based on the rankings of the Arab and international football governing bodies.
Group A features hosts and defending champions Egypt, alongside Saudi Arabia, Mauritania, and Iraq.
Group B consists of Oman, runners-up in the previous edition, Morocco, Lebanon, and Libya.
The Arab Beach Soccer Cup was first held in Egypt in 2008, three years after FIFA officially incorporated beach soccer into its competitions in 2005. Libya claimed the inaugural Arab title, with the United Arab Emirates finishing as runners-up.
The second edition took place in Saudi Arabia in 2010, where the hosts secured the championship, while the United Arab Emirates once again finished second.
Egypt hosted the third edition in 2014, with the Egyptian national team lifting the trophy and Lebanon finishing as runners-up.
The fourth edition was staged in Saudi Arabia in 2023, where Egypt successfully claimed the title for the second time in the tournament’s history, defeating Oman, who finished as runners-up.
