A general press conference was held this evening, Tuesday, at the conference hall of Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City in Abha, in the presence of Dr. Raja Allah Al-Salami, the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Football Associations, and Mr. Abdullah Al-Junaibi, President of the Organizing Committee of King Salman Cup for Arab Clubs 2023, and Mr. Moaid Al-Shehri, the Director of the championship; to talk about the latest preparations for the start of the competitions, to stand on the readiness of all committees, and to approve the lists of clubs and referees.

The Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Football Associations, Dr. Raja Allah Al-Salami, welcomed all the delegations of the clubs participating in the champonship which is being organized by UAFA and hosted by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation in Taif, Abha and Al-Baha, wishing success to all clubs, and expressing confidence in providing the best levels that reflect the progress of Arab football.

He said: “this tournament bears a name dear to all Arab brothers, and it comes within the framework of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which is based on hosting regional, continental, international and Olympic sports tournaments, and God willing, it will be a successful experience, and the Arab Clubs Cup will continue for many future editions”.

For his part, Abdullah Al-Junaibi, President of the Organizing Committee of the tournament, said: “The tournament will witness a quantum leap in arbitration, as goal-line technology (Hawk-Eye), automated offside and VAR technology will be applied, stressing that the stadiums are fully prepared to host the tournament matches.

Mr. Moaid Al-Shehri, the tournament director, stated that the channel that broadcasts the championship matches is SSC channel exclusively, in addition to Shahid platform, indicating that there are 3 categories of tickets available to the fans, which are golden, silver and unified.

In response to an inquiry about the mechanism for the fans leaving after each match, he stated that the fan cannot attend two matches with one ticket, indicating that they have security coordinators from Asia and Africa regarding this matter, and they have sufficient experience to deal with such matters.
