This morning, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the draw of the seventh edition of the Arab Futsal up 2023 for national teams was held, which will be organized by the Union of Arab Football Associations and hosted by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, from 6 to 16 June.
The first group included Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Libya and Sudan.
The second group included Morocco, Comoros, Kuwait and Lebanon.
The third group included Egypt, Mauritania, Palestine and Iraq.
The Arab Futsal Cup will be held at the Ministry of Sports hall at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah.
The first edition of the championship was held in Cairo in 1998, with the participation of Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Jordan, Algeria, Palestine, Sudan and Somalia, as Egypt won the cup, Morocco came second, and Libya third.
In 2005, the second edition was also held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with the participation of Egypt, Lebanon, Algeria, Libya, Iraq, Tunisia, Palestine and Morocco, as the Egyptian national team retained the title, and the Moroccan national team finished runner-up as well, followed by the Lebanese national team in third place and the Libyan national team in fourth place.
Libya hosted the third edition in 2007, with the participation of Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Lebanon, Morocco, Egypt and Iraq, as the Libyan national team won the title.
The fourth edition returned to Egypt in 2008, with the participation of Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, Iraq, Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Libya, as The Libyan national team was also crowned with the title, and the Egyptian national team came in second place, then the Jordanian national team in third place.
After which, the tournament returned again to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, which hosted the fifth edition in 2021, with the participation of Egypt, Mauritania, Bahrain, Kuwait, Morocco, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Comoros, as it won by Morocco.
The sixth edition was held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, with the participation of Morocco, Kuwait, Mauritania, Somalia, Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Palestine and Libya, and won by the Moroccan national team, while Iraq finished second.
