Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal thanks the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques UAFA: Launching the name “King Salman Cup” for the Arab Clubs Championship
The Arab Football Association Council announced the launch of the name “King Salman Cup” for the Arab Clubs Championship within the Arab Federation competitions for the 2023 season, which will be held in a preliminary qualifying system and then finals hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the cities of Abha, Al-Baha and Taif.
His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, President of the Arab Football Association, in his name and on behalf of the Federation Council, raised thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, for his kind approval to name the club championship under the name of King Salman Cup, extending his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness Royal Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for his interest in the Arab Federation and its competitions and programs.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Arab Football Association, Dr. Raja Allah Al-Salami, affirmed that “the championship bears a name dear to all Arab athletes, and is considered among the Arab Federation’s competitions for the 2023 season,” noting, “The mechanism for participating in the tournament has been circulated to all member Arab federations to name their representatives”.
The Secretary-General of the Arab Federation indicated that “the championship competitions will be attended by 37 clubs, and it will start with the preliminary qualifying stage, and then the final qualifiers that will be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia next summer,” adding: “The qualifiers and final dates will be announced later in coordination with the member Arab federations And with the Saudi Football Federation, which will host the tournament finals”.
