Al-Ittihad from Saudi Arabia is the first team to qualify for the quarter-finals

The Saudi team Al-Ittihad qualified for the quarter-finals of the King Salman Cup for Arab Clubs 2023, after defeating Tunisian team Sfaxien 1-0, in the second round of the group stage on Sunday.

Al-Ittihad’s goal was scored by player Karim Benzema in the second half, to ensure that his team qualified for the next round, after achieving the full mark by winning the first two rounds, after its victory over Tunisian team Esperance in the first match 2-1.

In the remaining matches on Sunday, Moroccan team Wydad drew with Al-Ahli Tripoli from Libya 1-1, while a goalless draw settled the match of the Tunisian team Esperance with the Iraqi team Al-Shorta, while Al-Sadd from Qatar won 3-2 over Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia.

In the first match, Wydad goal was scored by Ayoub Al-Amloud, while Al-Ahli Tripoli equalized through Ahmed Karawea, and in the second match, Esperance and Al-Shorta teams split a goalless draw point.

In the third match, Baghdad Bounedjah, Tariq Salman and Gonzalo Plata scored Al Sadd’s goals, while Al Hilal’s double came through Michel Bassist and Salem Al Dawsari.

Today, Monday, the second round of the group stage will be completed, as 4 upcoming matches will be held, which will bring together the Emirati team Al-Wahda with the Algerian team CR Belouizdad, the Saudi team Al-Shabab against the Egyptian team Zamalek, the Moroccan team Raja with the Kuwaiti team Kuwait, and the Tunisian team US Monastir against the Saudi team Al-Nassr.
