Two victories and two draws in the start of the first round of the group stage

King Salman Cup for Arab Clubs 2023, which is being organized by the Union of Arab Football Associations, and hosted by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, from July 27 to August 12 in Taif, Abha and Al-Baha, kicked off today, Thursday, with 4 matches in the opening round of the group stage.

The first match ended in a goalless draw between Al-Sadd from Qatar and Wydad from Morocco, and in the second, Al-Shorta from Iraq defeated the Tunisian team Sfaxien 1-0.

The third match ended without goals between the Saudi team Al-Hilal and the Libyan team Al-Ahli Tripoli, while the fourth ended with the victory of the Saudi team Al-Ittihad 2-1 against the Tunisian team Esperance.

In the first group, Al-Shorta defeated Sfaxien with a goal scored by Alaa Al-Zahra, while Al-Ittihad double was scored by Abdel-Razzaq Hamdallah and Karim Benzema, while the goal of Esperance came through Osama Bougherra.

In the second group, Al-Sadd and Wydad match ended in a goalless draw, and the match between Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli Tripoli ended with the same result as well.

The opening round will continue on Friday, when the Algerian team CR Belouizdad faces the Moroccan team Raja, and the Egyptian team Zamalek faces the Tunisian US Monastir, and the Kuwaiti team Kuwait faces the Emirati team Al-Wahda, and the Saudi team Al-Nassr faces Al-Shabab.
